The Ossola Valley offers the opportunity to reach easily about 150 km. of ski-slopes (most of them prepared for the weekend). Cross-country skiing in Santa Maria Maggiore (Vigezzo valley), Macugnaga-Monte Rosa 4635 m. (Anzasca valley); Riale 1800 m. (Formazza valley) and Alpe Devero Natural Park. Ossola is getting famous among ski-alpinists: special web pages ski-alpinism . Thanks to its natural environment with lakes and mountains in this North Italian province (VCO Verbano Cusio Ossola) which offers a vertical drop of more than 4400 meters, sportive activities are almost unlimited, also for more extreme sports like ski-snowboard-alpinism, snowkiting, paragliding, ice-climbing, snowshoeing.
